FREEZING and the heater won't come on! No noises no fan no nothing.
We have a Bryant central heating and air unit - the heat unit is under the house and the ac unit is on the outside of the house. This last summer the ac wasn't working and upon changing the filters both under the house and inside the house - we had a/c. Now its winter and the heat won't come on at all - we did the filter change - what's next? I am a single mom with no man around so this is all foreign to me - I would rather do it myself than go broke paying a repair service to come out and do something ridiculous and charge me an arm and a leg as they laugh all the way to the bank - any ideas?

First make sure the thermostat is set to heat.
Next turn the blower on instead of automatic and see if the furnace blower comes on.

This is a power test

All I can say is the unit under the floor will need trouble shooting to find the problem. At this point unless you know what you are doing, have a meter and know how to use it you will need to call for On Site Service since I cannot check it out/repair it from here. Sorry

Do you know anything about the furnace (brand/model#)? Could be a tripped draft safeguard switch, or maybe the blower access panel popped loose and the interlock switch is disengaged.
