I have a Carrier weathermaker 8000 Product # 58ZAV050--16112 Series 160,
Model 58ZaV050-12, Series 0802A72264. The unit is not working, i.e. getting hot air and I get error code 34 then after 3 tries(as it should according to manual) I get error code 14.
I powered off the unit to begin inspection, read instructions, etc. All connections appeared firm. When I powered it back on, I noticed that the igniter never glows -as it says it should in the manual. When I inspected the igniter, it had a crack on one side. Is this the problem? How much is the part?

I attempted the component test(short 24hz & Test Terminals for ~2 secs) - must the button for covers be held in while this is done and do I short if for longer than 2 secs? When I perform the test, I get continuous LED on after a few short blinks - but nothing else happens.

Also, it says to turn off the thermostat and I do this as well.

Any additional info/tests would be helpful? Thanks in advance

A cracked ignitor is a definite problem. Seek out part # LH33ZS004 and treat it like an egg. Don't touch the element with your bare hands!
