This is about a kid who goes to his grandparents house, I think. His grandfather has a book who will take him to a different world. I remember that the kid meets a lot of different creatures and makes a best friend. I remember there were prana fish in the water. The kid had to stop these bad creatures. I remember that the kid was in an attic and the book opened up into another world. It was not the never ending story. Could you please help. If you think you know put a title down. Thanks.

Not never ending story. I remember there were pranas in the water, and I think I remember when they were in the other world the kid and whatever was hiding behind a log and looking into this cave watching this person in this little like hobbit cave. If I remember correctly there was a Kangaroo or like one in this land. Thanks.
