My 30 year old niece has severe mental health issues, including multiple personality disorders and bi-polar issues. She also has a severely autistic 5 year old son living with her. She needs to be committed to an inpatient facility in the Seattle area before she harms herself or others. Is there a way to break her lease in Spokane without effecting future Section 8 eligibility?

Call the management office where she is currently residing and ask them what sort of documentation they would require from her doctor as she needs to be committed and will need a place to live when she is out. They should be able to work with you on this matter. I would hate to see her denied for future housing due to a matter of gathering up the paperwork.
