It's time to start contacting everyone you know to see if you can borrow enough to prevent the eviction. If that doesn't work, try local churches and civic groups. I know that NJ has something called the Homelessness Prevention Program that will give loans to qualified people to prevent eviction. I wish I had a better answer for you (I hope I'm wrong), but I don't think it makes a difference if you have children in the home.

What are the reasons for your being evicted? Did you sign a lease? Did you break an agreement?

Maybe we can help from that angle, but simply having children, I'm afraid that isn't going to make a difference.

Do you have someplace that you can go? Like the above poster, there may be organizations that can help or shelters that you could stay for a short amount of time until you find something else.

If the 72 hour warning is from the COURT, then you've probably got a week. If it's from your LANDLORD, you've probably got a month or more.
