Water comes out of the air gap vent for my dishwasher

Unscrew the cap on the air gap and clean if necessary. Then if that does not work you will need to clean the line from the air gap to the drain/garbage disposal. If you just installed the disposal you forgot to remove the knock out.

The tube going from the air gap to the garbage disposal or drain should not loop below the place where it is to be connected or it can cause water to come out of the air gap/vent when water flow from the dishwasher stops.

That sounds like a good idea but I just checked mine and the air gap line does go down or loop down past the drain. It has been that way for 15 years with no problem. Good info to know on your part.
