Hi:

This is the first time I'm using this system.

Question, I have a pick up toyota tacoma 2003 with a fuel problem, is giving me about 10-11 miles to a gallon of gasoline.
I took this truck with many master mechanics and they can figure it out, so please if you could help me and explain what will be the possible answer.

Oxygen sensor have been replaced, tuned-up, fuel injectos replaced etc.

Thanks in advance .

Sincerely

Fernando salcedo

This link should help:

Focus on replacing the spark plugs and air filter--biggest bang for the money. After that, consider cleaning the MAF Sensor with CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner:

The biggest drag on trucks is due to resistance in the transmission and differential. Therefore, I would use Mobil 1 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Oil in the differential and Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF in the transmission. This, alone, could increase gas mileage 8 to 10%.

* A final item you don't want to overlook, and maybe most important of all, is the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor. If it is corroded (insulator), due to not changing the coolant regularly, it can continue providing an overly rich fuel/air mixture, even when the engine warms up. Consider replacing the sensor, which is easy to do and not expensive.

There seems to be issues with the fuel pressure regulator on these trucks. This would certainly affect fuel millage as you said.

First, how are you calculating your mileage? Same gas? Same pump? Odometer calibration corrected and identical vehicle drive habits/load.. All that stuff...
Tough to replicate all that. Regional fuel differences can come into play here. Where are you?

Second question: you say the "master mechanic" can (?) figure it out?
Why did you replace the oxygen sensor? Do a "tune up," or replace the fuel injectors??

Help us help you figure this out.
