I am divorcing after being married for just 2 months. My wife has anger issues and we cannot be together. We have been separated since oct. She sold all her furniture when she moved in with me and now claims that I owe her half of my stuff plus she is 3 months behind in her car note which is in her name and was hers long before our marriage. I wasn't even with her when she bought it. Am I obligated to help pay for the car? Does she have a court case that will force me to give her money and replace the items she once owned. My stuff was bought by me and I have receipts to prove that I paid for them before the marriage and before she moved in.

It is possible that she might be awarded temporary spousal support but that is dependent on your local laws and the judge.

If she has a job and didn't give it up to care for kids/home, chances are she won't get much, if anything.

IF she can prove she had both bought AND sold the property a court might listen to her argument... but honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

As for the car, that will be decided in your divorce agreement. When I got divorced, whomever got the property got the bills associated with it.

Please note I am not a lawyer and just basing my answers off what I have read here and witnessed first hand.
