21 I think I have a different read on this one. I think this is a heating system not a domestic supply system. Fuffa, you need to explain further cause us old guys get confused easily.

Sssshhhhh and then a big bang with a shake in the pipes... I guess when the water shuts off, it shakes the pipes ? Come to find out the pump went out and made crazy loud noise
Too. It is being replaced as I type.

Thank you.

What you have sounds like water hammer The ssssshhhh is the valve restriction on the water pressure. The bang is its result and if air is in the line a small bubble this is the bang It could also be a very quick abrupt stop in water pressure. Dish washers and washers are notorious for that. There are many styles and applications of water hammer arrestors that can be used. Some go on the main line that feeds the fixtures and some go right at the hook up of the fixtures that's causing the problem. There are a lot of options goggle "Water Hammer" and see what fits your budget and applications.
You also can try to rebleed the lines. Shut down the pump or main valve and open all fixtures the slowly open water supply and let all bleed out any air trapped

Yep, I'd go with a Soiux water hammer arrester. Not expensive or hard to install but oyur old system likely had an air chamber that has slowly loss its air cushion and this can be recharged. If you want to explore this idea let me know and I'll give you some no cost steps to recharge.
