Is there a way to add a personal shower to a tub spout without replacing the spout? I was wondering if there was some type of adapter available that connects to spouts so I don't have to install a new tub spout

Not that I know of the change has to directly connected to the tub Nipple that comes out of the wall and to do so the spout has to come off. If there is basically a new one their look for a set screw underneath the spout. It will be up in the spout and maybe an Allen wrench. If yours is fairly modern its not that big of a deal to make the change. Its set screw wiggle it off install new set up.

I have seen shower heads on a long hose that has a tapered rubber noozle that is big enough to just slip up on the tub spout.

If I were looking for one now I would look at placed like the "Dollar Store"

Hi Jakil67...

Here is what Letmetellu was talking about... see picture below.

You can click on this link to purchase online (about $20.00):

AOL Search (http://search.aol.com/aol/imageDetails?s_it=imageDetails&query=tub+spout+to+hand+held+shower+head+adapter&img=http%3A%2F%2Fecx.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FI%2F3104Wi3uUmL._SL500_AA280 _.jpg&site=&host=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FThe-Wright-Stuff-Inc-443%2Fdp%2FB000300V6K&width=114&height=114&thumbUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fimages-partners-tbn.google.com%2Fimages%3Fq%3Dtbn%3Az9wi3wq1ZqaAEM %3Aecx.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FI%2F3104Wi3uUmL._SL500_AA280 _.jpg&b=image%3Fquery%3Dtub%2Bspout%2Bto%2Bhand%2Bheld%2 Bshower%2Bhead%2Badapter%26page%3D2%26s_cs%3D-1494277462543431644%26s_it%3Dtopsearchbox.image%26 imgsz%3D%26s_dc%3D20)

However, I also agree with 21 boat that it is USUALLY super easy to swap out the tub spout and go with slightly better system. If interested in more on this let us know, too!

Good luck...

Mark, your pics amaze me over and over again. You need to put out your own plumbing supply book. Or better yet, an online plumbing supply page.
