HIPPA VIOLATION?

I had blood work done and the Doctors offce called with my results, which they never do but my sister was here from out of town and the Nurse gave her my results. My sister did tell her that she was my sister and that I was at work My sister did ask a question and the nurse answered the question and read stuff right out of my medical file Hippa violation WHAT DO I DO??

Report the violation to the Doctor's office. I'd be very clear about not wanting ANYONE to have my medical information unless I specifically signed an authorization.

If you want to cause a problem for the Doctor, you can report the violation on the HIPAA website - but be prepared to find a new Doctor!

There is little else you can personally do.
