My son applied for a job and was told that there was something on his backround check that needed to be taken care of before he could be hired, but that company would not tell him what is was. He then applied for a job at another company and they sent him is backround report and it stated that something that he did 6 years ago was showing up, it was not a felony, it was possession of a small amount of weed. The backround report stated that is was nonprocessecuted. How can this be taken care of? Most applications just ask if you have been convicted of a felony.

Has he tried to get the arrest expunged - if he can in your State. Obviously the possession charge is keeping him from getting employment, whether he was convicted or not.

I am not seeing applications that ask if a person has ever been convicted of a felony - I see more and more applications that ask if the person has ever been arrested. Disposition of the charge and the nature of the charge are not asked.
