My wife's aunt, a wonderful woman of about 80 years, gave me a gift. A roll of Mentos and a 2-liter of Diet Coke.
Now for your viewing pleasure, watch what happens when Dr. Bunhead Jr. dumps them into the soda.
This is a pdf slideshow file of 3.2MB, so it will take a moment to load. Once the first pic is showing, hit your down arrow to advance the pics:

I'm surprised there is not a warning on Mentos and Diet Soda labels! :p

Those are good ones!
I wanted to rig something with a hole in the cap but my son was so impatient to do it...
I'll have to scrounge up some pics of our saltpteter/sugar rocket flame smoke bombs. Those are a real hoot! http://www.jackson8.com/images/thumb.gif

Shakes my head and grins at all the rocket scientist wannabees LOL
You need to come visit your relatives Rick and take a tour of the Space Center, I think!

I did just 2 years ago. The 3rd time I've been.
We've got a good one close-by here in Ohio too: National Museum of the Us Air Force (http://www.wpafb.af.mil/museum/)
Love that stuff. I'm a Science Junkie - and happily have 3 jr. science junkies to play with!
