I am working on my cottage & the builders have knocked the telephone plug off.

I have bought a new one which mentions wiring diagram colours to terminals 1 green with white ring,2 blue with white ring.3 orange with white ring,4 white with orange ring,5 white with blue ring,6 white with green ring.

I only have four wires coming in which are black,white & black,orange & black,green & black. It did all work before about could you assist with the conversion??

If in the US, use a Multimeter, see what is hot and what is Negative. The negative will go to red on phone jack, and positive will go to green, about 50 volts DC, Call your phone(caller ID), or call to this phone to verify you are on correct "pair".
