We apparently have hot water regulators on our main hot water lines so people don't get burned. I do not like this feature as the water going to my dishwasher and shower are not hot enough for my liking.
Can these be removed without calling a plumber?

We need more information before we can answer. Are you in a condo? What's your hot water supply. A heater in your unit or a boiler that feeds the building? The average home water temperature runs about 120 degrees F. What's yours? Tell me more about this "regulator"? Talk to me. Tom

Thanks for replying. We live in Northern Ontario (Canada) and live in a single family home. Hot Water Lines come off a gas fired Hot Water Tank (have the tank turned up to where it should be). These are new type water line systems (can't think of the name of the material - looks like plastic). Anyway we were told when we bought the house that the hot water lines are regulated to avoid anyone getting scalded. For example when showering, I have the tap turned on as far as it will go and the water is never real hot. Water doesn't get very hot going to the dishwasher either. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you set up the temperature on the heater control? (see image) Regards, Tom

Yes, have done that. As I said, we were told there are "regulars" whatever that means on the actual lines to keep the water from being too hot.
