I was looking in my dogs ears and noticed some ear wax, would it be all right to clean his ears out with some Q-Tips?

our trainer said to use the wipes that they carry at places like petsmart. That's what I use on Zoe and it works pretty well. Just be careful not to push anything into the ear. =)

What kind of wipes are they?? I'm not sure if they could be purchased around here we don't have any pet shops around.

Hmm. I don't know the name of them but they look like diaper wipes. I bet you could use those too.

I clean my dog's ears with q-tips and peroxide. I just dip the q-tips in the peroxide then clean. Seems to do the job and vet says that's fine. Of course I don't go too deep and am very careful with him.

Actually let me go see what they're called.
OK they're called Perfect Coat (that's the brand name) puppy bath wipes. You don't need to get the puppy kind, that's just what I bought. And this is what it says at the bottom
•safely removes dirt, dander and tough pet odors
•enriched with moisturizing conditioners to leave coat healthy and shiny
•alcohol-free formula is mild enough for every day use
•premium cloth material is durable, yet gentle on skin
I'm sure there are other things you could use, this is just what the trainer said would be a good idea and we've liked them.

Don't worry about going too far in, you can't, a dogs ear canal is much different then ours.
I use cotton balls and a bit of rubbing alcohol, but be careful not to use too much as it will dry out the ears.
You can also get a wash from the vets, but be careful with this, you are actually pouring it into the ear, and if puppy shakes her head, you'll be covered from head to toe. ;)
Good luck and stay dry. ;)
