Trying to find the model year of my sears 917.255561 38" rider mower.

Found out it's a 1998 model

Hi,
If it is 1998, why was the manual printed 06/09/92?
If it has the original engine the third set of numbers(Code) will be in the form of YYMMDDSS where it is Year, Month, Day and Shift.

CRIGBY... Thanks for the info. I looked at engine S/N and it was 1992. Don't know why
Sears said 1998. I've been looking for a bagger and needed the info.
