Hi-

We have a whirlpool gold "super capacity 465" gas range that is approximately 9 years old. About a week ago my wife noticed that the oven was not getting hot. The burners on top all work properly, so I assumed it was not an issue with the gas supply.

After some online research and a déjà vu to an oven we had 2 homes ago, I replaced the glo-bar igniter with the proper replacement piece from an appliance store. I moved the oven out, cut off the old ingniter, wired and capped the new ingniter, and remounted to the oven ceiling where the old one was. However, when I turned the breaker back on, everything was as before. Burners work, oven does not.

At this point, I'm at a loss. Does anyone have any ideas what the issue might be or a possible repair strategy?

Thanks!

Is the ignitor glowing on this unit when there is a call for the oven?

Also there is a number missing on the end of the model number I believe. I am trying to find a wiring diagram for your exact unit.

No, there is not a glow coming from the ignitor at this time. The only other code letters at the end of the model number indicate color. Mine is white.

You need to use a meter and check to see if power is being supplied to the ignitor. If not then you will need to back track the ignitor wiring to the appropriate control and see if power is there or if the control is bad. Having no luck finding a wiring diagram at this time but trouble shooting is just a matter of following the wiring till you find the defective part. Naturally I am sure you have tested in incomming power at the plug on the wall. There is also a control console on that unit so the ignitor voltage might come from the control for the oven in the console.
