I have an ASUS laptop that's driving me crazy! For some reason, it won't respond to the mouse click. For example, if I want to get on the Internet, I can get the Google screen to load up, I put in the topic that I want to serach, click search, and absolutely nothing happens, it's as if the computer is not responding to the mouse command. This happens with the mouse on the laptop as well as when I use a mouse. The same thing happens when I'm using a Word document, I can call up Word, enter text, but when I cllick on the mouse to save the document, nothing happens. The last time this happened I had to use the recovery disk to reset everything (actually, I've done this twice before). I know that the mouse is fine, I'm wondering if something is improperly set on the computer. FYI, this problem seems to occur whenever there is an update from Microsoft, not sure if this is a coincidence or not. Any advice you can give would be very much appreciated.

How are you opening programs if your mouse click doesn't work?

The computer is allowing me to open the application i.e. Google, Word, etc. Once I input a search topic in Google and click Search, nothing happens

Look for your Google search cookie in your cookies folder, and delete the Google cookie only. Alternately, clean all cookies.
If the above doesn't help, go into your device manager and see if, under the mice devices, there's an error.
