Hi,

My 7.5 HP Toro snowblower runs great, but here is the problem. The auger appears to spin fine until it hits the snow and it stops spinning and gets clogged up with snow. I am not sure if I have to replace a belt or something? If anybody knows what the issue may be and knows if this is something that I could do myself wothout bringing it to a professional that would be a great help.

Thanks

Yes I would try it engine Off! Look to take a cover plate to expose the drive system and move the lever that engages the auger. I'm not sure what you have a direct drive by belt only for a belt engaged to clutch/belt pulley. Check for belt to lose and adjust I doubt it's a chain drive nut it may well be and not direct drive or engine would stall when auger stops. There could be also set type screws for auger. Check all levers down from Handel and see if that linkage is OK

Post a model number for the snowthrower. If it's a 2 stage, it's more than likely the belt drive. Very often it's just an adjustment.
