Hi! You all are my last hope. I have a 13 year old Nordyne furnace. Last week the fan stopped blowing during the heating cycle. It would wait about 15 seconds and then come back on and a slight hot smell would be blown from the registers. I called a repairman and he put on a new fan limit switch and I still have the same problem. It does not do this all the time just occasionally. It also seems like it occurs more often when the furnace has not run. I called the repairman back and he just told me to call and get a different opinion. I called another repairman and he stated that may it was so cold that cold air was being drawn into the heat box and the burner had to rewarm the box before the fan could come back on. I do no buy this as this has never happened before so why would it start now. What else could be wrong. The fan will turn easily by hand and the filters are not excessively dirty. The second repairman said it did not think this was much of a problem. It is to me especially when I do not know if the fan will suddenly decide to not come back on. He said the limit switch would take care of that. I told him the fan switch is supposed to work to but apparently it is not. Do you all have any ideas what would be wrong?
Thanks for your help!

The fan switch might not be adjusted properly. Does it have a silver dial and doest it turn when it is heating? Find brand name and model number on the fan control.
