I was given a painting in the late 1980's and I need help researching the artist. A photo of the painting and the artist signature is attached.

I cannot make out the signature. The first letter looks like an l. then it appears to be possibly "j_ _ nb_ _ ln? That is simply guessing. The b might also be an h.
