Hi,

My mother has CAD and she just suffered a heart attack almost a month back. Her HDL levels are very low.
Is there anything we can do in order to raise these levels? I mean any home remedy etc?

Or is there any thing which we have to take cra in particular considering that she suffered an attack? People have been telling me that the life expectancy of a person decreases a lot after an attcak and people can't survive more than 2 attacks, is there any truth in it.

Im really scared as I don't want to loose her so soon.
She underwent an angioplasty with a drug eluting stent.

Please help me as I'm really concerned about her.

Thanks
Kris

Eat whole grains, whole wheat, oatmeal, fruits, vegetables and any other foods high in fiber. Cut down on meats, greasy foods and junk foods. Use olive oils and the oils sold with them. Don't use the Crisco Wesson type oils.
Are you taking high cholestrol statin meds?

Hi,

Thank you so much for all the information.

Yes, my mother is taking statin meds, she is taking atorvastatin 20 mg along with Plavix and ecosprin, followed by cardivas 3.125 and a waterpill.

She is a diabetic and is taking medicines for controlling that too.

We've switched to olive oil and taking care of her diet, but she can hardly exercise cause she is very weak.

So is there any home remedy or anything else which we can do inorder to increase her HDL levels?

Someone suggested to have a tablespoon of raw onion juice on empty stomach, but he was not sure whether it would act adversely on her sugar levels.

Thanks,
Kris
