My 1999 Honda Accord Automatic 4 Cyl has begun to miss or drop a beat at idle. It idles fine and then misses a hit or 2 and then will idle fine again but missing at anytime continually. It also upon reaccelarating may miss/lope and then continue fine. I checked the spark plugs and they showed normal wear, put on new PCV, checked air filter, and visual check of hoses. Car is needed so any help would be appreciated.

Here's what I would do:

. Replace spark plugs (NGK only).
. Replace rotor.
. Replace distributor cap.
. Replace Ignition Control Module and coil:

I recommend replacing ICMs and coils every 120,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes first. These are two problematic components on Hondas. Replacement should result in "like new" reliability and performance.
