Hi I just brought an item from eBay (new 14K gold ep figaro necklace chain 4mm wide 24") the price on it was to good to be true $19.99. My question is, will the gold on it fade and what is elecrto plated? I had a figaro chain in the past. The same one but it cost me almost $400.00. What is the different from this I just brought from the one I had in the past?

Electro plating is when something is fused onto another base metal using electric currents. If its gold plated the gold will eventually come off and you will start to see the base metal underneath. No expected time scale though, depends on the metal and the item.
