Recently I was arrested for attepmted theft in a store.
I had never been arrested before so I was very nervous and scared in the holding cell. I sat in the cell for nearly two hours before the detective came in to speak with me. When he did he told me that If I lied to him at any point he was going to put my in jail that night.
When we went to the interview room he read me my rights and I told him that I'd never been arrested and asked if I needed a lawyer. He said well its up to you but I can help you help your sefl if you just coroporate with me. He said he already had enough to book me on as it was and the lawyer wouldn't matter. So out of fear I said more than I should have and most likely incrimidated two other people as well as myself in the situation.
My question is whether I could have this confession inadmissable at court. Were my rights violated at all. I feel like he scared me into telling him what he wanted.
