I had my hair colored last week and highlighted at the salon. My natural color is an ashy blonde. The color looked nice but the hightlights turned out orange. I returned to the salon and she put more highlights in and nothing but white and orange turned up. I went back again and now I am still too orange on top. What can I do to fix this? Thank you so much!

Heyy. You could try asking the hairdressers to give you lightest ash highlights so when its finished there should be no orangy tones.
I've heard toners are good for this. I've not used them myself I usually put a neutral or ash blonde nice and easy dye over the top of brassy tones and it gets rid of them.
Also, you can go to sallys and ask for a shampoo and conditioner with a blue/purple tint this dulls brassiness a bit..

Hope I've been of some help =]

I had a medium brown hair and for over 4 years my hairdresser and myself both highlight my hair and it is always brassy or orangish , I use natural instincts semi permanent color which used to be linen for the color which is actually light ash brown when u apply to whole head it won't affect the darker color of hair it will only tone down the brassy orangish colors. It works great and was always a life saver for me. Good Luck

From my own expereince ( and I have a lot of experience with different colors), it really all depends on the salon you go to and the colorist you see. The orange and brassiness is natural, it happens to many people, however if you are willing to pay the big bucks for good products (for blonde shades I really like Pureology shampoos and conditioners, and Aveda Blue Malva treatment), and for good colorists, the result will surely be the one you want--without the orange shade.
