Please help
For the past month now I have been trying to remember the title of a movie I used to watch. It was played on 'showtime' around 2000 or so, and involved a lead african american man who in one scene is in a changing room in a mall when a young girl sticks her head under the changing room door and sees him swapping the price tags on a leather jacket?
For some reason I can't remember he goes back to their house and makes the young girl a sandwich , which she asks to be cut into squares.. but as he does so, she asks for triangles.

I think there was also some sort of talent competition involved which the 3 siblings compete in, in order to save their house from being put up for lease but I'm not sure.

Please help me
I can't stop thinking about it and don't think I will be able to until I know what it is
Any info is great! even a character or actors name!
Thank you for your help and time
It is greatly appreciated

If anyone has ANY information no matter how small it is a massive help!!

I've spent a lot of time trying to remember this one. It was with
M. C. Hammer, the black, once famous and rich rapper, and the
Three children were white. He was trying to teach them how to
Sing so that they could compete in a talent show to save their
House. The name of the show was "The Right Connections," originally
Made in 1997. Hammer played the role of Kendrick Bragg. Here's a link:
