Im starting a contracting company and would like a second opinion I would like to know the requirements and/or information about being bonded. If any would like to give me a crash course on the situation, it would be appreciated. Any info. Would be appreciated. THX

Hi, SmootheKang!

In order to be bonded, you would ask an insurance agent who also is able to carry bonding insurance. Or, you would look in the Yellow Pages of the phone book for bonding agents.

What exactly is it that you'll be a contractor for, please?

Thanks!

And what type of bond and why do you want or need one. Are you handling money or property of someone else.

Do you need a bid bond for government bids

A performance bond for a bid

Do you want to bond employees working for you handling your money
If so many business owners insurance policy merey have a theft rider for employees

Most full line insurance agents can help you
