We have been having problems with our dual zone system, operated by two Simple Comfort 3001 thermostats. When both systems are on, the temperature in one of the zones (typically upstairs when heat is running, downstairs when airconditioning is running) will exceed the limit for that zone, but the system will continue to run such that the temperature is as much as 5 degress higher(heat) or lower(air conditioning) than the limit. The thermostats function properly independently, so I don't think it's a problem with them. HELP!!

Has this been a problem all along, or is this a more recent development? If it has always functioned this way, it may have been wired incorrectly when installed.

What type of zone panel do you have? When the tsat satisfys does the zone shut down? What type of zone dampers to you have? Lotts of questions that need answers. Post the info system ,zone system dampers and how the tstats are wired, is there a selector switch? Give us more info. Mikie D

There are two diverter for upstair and downstair, downstair diverter is stuck in closed
Position. Therefore it does not heat down stair.

Question how do you release downstair divert??

Thanks

There called dampers and are connected to a zone panel. What type of damper motors are they orange trola-temp ,blue trola-temp, motors or updated ewc or honeywell motors. Most times the mortors can burn out or on the trola-temp motors there is a tiny set screw that tightens on the shaft of the damper itself. How many wires on the motors and that will tell most likely what you have ? Wires on 1,4,6,and 2&5 jumper wire. If the shafts are loose shut the tsats down and the zone panel will ask them to be in a normally open position ( the dampers that is) then make sure blades on damper are fully open and tighten motor to shafts. Let me know what's going on and what zone panel you have. Good luck Mikie D.
