I am cooking a ham for Christmas, more specific the label says smoked ham roast. If I put it in a roaster how long average does it need to cook for and at what oven temp? Is there a cercaitn temp it needs to reach with a thermometer to be done cooking? Any advice I can get would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, Snowak.
Does the package say that the Ham roast is fully cooked ? Is it bone in or boneless ?
If the ham is fully cooked you are only going to be heating the ham. If not fully cooked set oven to 325* cook( 12-14 Lb)
I would place it in a Roasting bag and set the temperature at 325* ham roast for 3 1/2 to 4 hours in a roasting bag.
For 2-3 hours. Be sure the temperature is 160* before serving. Temperature should be 160* when fully cooked and
Ready to serve.
The ham can be kept in the plastic bag until ready to serve and will look Great.
**** DO NOT START THE HAM TOO EARLY OR you will overcook it and it WILL TURN BROWN AND NOT LOOK GOOD. ****
Regardless if you have never done it before you will learn to appreciate the " Reynolds oven bags".
**** JUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AND YOU WILL BE VERY PLEASED I'M SURE. I HAVE BEEN USING THE OVEN BAGS FOR 20 YEARS, FOR EVERYTHING FROM PORK, BEEF, CHICKEN, FISH AND EVEN DEER, THEY WORK GREAT!
You can really goof up and no one will be th wiser because the bag keeps the moisture in.
When I first started I purchased an aluminum disposable pan and It worked great. I now have a really good roasting pan with Dome lid and if you want to invest in it buy the best you can afford, I'm sure you will be using it a lot.
GOOD LUCK, I REMEMBER MY FIRST TIME COOKING A TURKEY, I WAS SCARED STIFF. BUT MY MOM TOLD ME ABOUT THE BAKING BAGS AND ALL 15 OF US ENJOYED OUR MEAL.
Have a nice and enjoyable meal, A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR:: I CAN SMELL IT COOKING NOW:: EXCEPT FOR LAST LINE : WRITTEN BY MRS F.B.E.

The label doesn't say if its cooked or not says smoked, and it has the bone in.

Hey Snowak
I would suggest that you cook the Ham Roast as if it were not fully cooked, that way you will be assured that you will not be eating raw pork. Since it is smoked I doubt you would have to add much seasoning. As I suggested before I would follow directions on the Reynolds baking bag. You can still place the Baking bag in the roaster. Be sure and place water in the bottom of the roaster at least 1 inch deep. I would place traditional pineapple rings with cherries in the middle, just for some add'l flavor and looks. Drain the pineapple juice and add about 1 cup of brown sugar to make a glaze, spread on the ham about 1 hour before removing from the oven, the Glaze will burn if put on too soon. Remember to have the boneless Ham at 160* before you serve it.
Good Luck and I hope you and yours have A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR AND ENJOY YOUR HAM ROAST.
If I have been helpful that is my small contribution to your meal. Mrs F.B.E.

160 seems too high. 120 is a bit more like it. Did one yesterday.
