Maybe a portable water pump,a small one to just get the water out during hard rains?

I don't know if you need a pump - I had a plumber run a thin line, like a water line to a refrigerator, from the window well along the basement wall and into the sump pump. No pump, just gravity. Works beautifully and I don't have to worry about dragging a portable pump around, electricity, mixing gas, anything like that.
Might be a thought -

Many window wells have a drain line built into them that is connected to the sump. Do you know if you have one that is plugged or just not present at all?

I don't know your grade set up but if there is a slope away from your house that's decent enough and not to to far. I would dig out the inside of bottom of the window 12 inches below the window well and bowl it in shape at bottom dirt level Then I would dig or rent a ditch witch and start from the window well button level where the and slope a trenched ditch to get away from the house and out of ground and pipe it out. Install pipe in sloped ditch and under and inside window well. Now this seems extreme and may not even apply to your problem of how heavy the water is and your finish grade conditions but you said filling up a lot. Do you have a cover for it or is it just heavy seepage? I personally worry about water puddles against a foundation wall and the quicker removed the better. If the conditions are good for out of ground gravity drainage I would trench Nothing to break down or heavy electrical storm power goes out no electric to pump with. JudyKayTee had an excellent idea if you have a sump pump and access that way. All the posts so far are good her.( except mine ah ah ) Like I said this is just another possible option. That's what's so great about this site. More good combined brain power. You can shop around. Happy Holidays
