I have tried so many websites but do not seem to find answers to basic questions. I would appreciate if anyone could help me.
The situation is this. I am married to a Pakistani who is and has been illegal in the UK for just over 5 years. He is planning to go back to Pakistan to apply for a marriage visa so that he can return to the UK as my spouse. I have been told I have to go and get married in Pakistan as the Nikah Namma is not valid under UK law. The problem is that we are not sure whether the embassy in Pakistan are requiring 3 months or 6months bank statements at the moment as part of the application. Can someone please verify this.
Also, my husband wishes to return in August of this year, however he does not wish to make his application until November. Reason for this is because my bank statements are overdrawn at the moment, and I do not want to submitt bank statements that are overdrawn as I fear the visa may be rejected. I want more time to submitt bank statements Is this OK?
Also according to the requirements, it says that you have to have suitable accommodation. One solicitor advised that you should have proof of name and address such as utility bills in your name. At the moment, I am paying for a single room in a shared house; the rent covers any bills and the bills are sent to the landlady in her name. Does this matter? I have had a private company come out and inspect the property and they have written a letter to say that the accommodation is suitable for entry clearance. I am just worried about the bills because I don't have any bills in my name accept for my phone bill.
I am also pregnant, and I don't know if this will affect the case in any way. Can you give advise regarding this.
Lastly (sorry this is so long), how long is it taking at the moment for visas being distributed? I have been told it takes 6-8 weeks, however I am not sure if this has changed recently.
At the moment I have the following:
Bank statements (although this needs to be sorted out as I mentioned above)
Tenancy Agreement
Letter confirming inspection of the property
Written letter from the Doctor confirming my pregnancy
6 months payslips
Nikah Namma from marriage done in January 06
Contract from employment
Birth certificate of applicant and myself (British citizen)
I will keep a record of phone bills and emails that we send to each other over the next 4-5 months while my husband is in Pakistan and plan to visit him at least twice before he applies for the visa.
Is this OK, or do I need to provide more?
Thank you so much
