Hello guys ! I live in a late 30's California home with an original floor heater, it used to work fine until due to a gas leak around the neighborhood, the gas supply was turned of for several hours, this happened during the summer, the gas company worker to give them a call when I needed it on, which I did, now 2 technicians have come and can't light up the pilot and told me to hire a contractor, How can it be turned on? There is crawlspace under the use, Do I need to crawl under and light it myself?

Thanks for any help, it's getting cold and my girlfriend does not want to visit to often now.:(

If the pilot cannot be lite then it is possible the safety device thermocouple or pilot gererator is defective. You can try to lite it yourself but if they could not get it going it probably had a problem and may need a part replaced.
