Hi,
I live in UK from sept 06. I got married in july08, soon after our marriage my wife reported that she has schizophrenia and wants to get treatment. She went to the local GP and told me she is asked to live in one of the hospitals for a month, never told which hospital by saying the nurses will come and take me there. I handed her mobile phone and she went on the day I was at work. I used to ring her but with no success. I assumed that it is because the hospitals don't allow the usage of mobile phones. I decided to wait and till September end, there was no news of her and her mobile was switched off. I went to GP and tried calling all the hospitals of Newcastle but all of them told me that we keep patients ID as confidential and do not disclose it. After a few days when I found there is no point in contacting hospitals I went to the police to report her missing, where to my surprise I found that she was already reported missing by someone else which they can't disclose which broke me completely.

I am on a students visa for 4 years. I completed my first year and was in the mid of second year when I got married. My wife has an ILR here and going as per her proposal I left my studies in between and did a full time job to save some money for my marriage. My visa expires in 2010 and I have wasted 2 academic years. I can't start my second year of a four year course before sept 09.

I want to appeal if I can get an ILR based on my circumstances or if not then at least can I have my students Visa extended.

What I don't understand is why the hospital denied your visit when you are legitimate spouse with no record of domestic violence or assault... your story is somewhat ambiguous. If you have concrete evidence to prove your words, you may have a case, but if all are just words without evidences or witnesses, you better pack and go home before immigration finds you.

That's what it is... word by word is true.. I called the hospitals, I never went to each of them as there are too many hospitals and I was not sure in which 1 she was. To prove that she went to a GP and was asked for 1 month medical observation will not be difficult as I have doctors note. Even if I don't have any prove for that still I can prove we were married, she disappeared in a weeks time and never came back. I tried to lodge police complaint but they told me she was already reported missing. Are these not reasons enough to build up a strong case?
