What an amazing thing. This little pup has a heart problem and for the first time ever they preformed surgery and has helped him out so much. This pup has lead the way to learning more about heart surgery in animals. Everyone should read this wonderful story

Taken from the story

He was diagnosed with a rare defect, involving an extra chamber on his heart. The only option for Alfie now was to operate - surgery that has never been performed on a dog before.``

Alfie is one lucky dog! :) I'm so glad there are vets out there that are in the profession for more than the money, but are truly concerned about the health and welfare of our beloved family members!

You hear too many stories lately about vets overcharging, and just treating your pet like a file number, as do some physicians! Pets are loving family members, and in some cases are better than their human counterparts. ;)

You right he is one lucky dog. Its nice to know of vets that don't think of your dog as just a number and a means of making money. I know there is a vet here in town that my boyfriends mother has been going to for FOURTEEN years with the same dog and when I went down with her to meet her vet (as I just got a dog three weeks ago)) I vowed I would never take another animal there EVER. He didn't even know the dog or look at her file, saying things like a medical problem (the one we took her in for) was there for years when it had only turned up within the last few days before taking her back to the vet ( they were there not three days before for alergies) he didn't even look at the dogs file or anything and he stood there insulting my boyfriends mother saying she didn't know how to take care of her dog when it was obvious he didn't even know what he was talking about. The things he told her about dandruff and skin problems. Sad thing is I TOLD HER THE Same THING HE HAD SAID. Before he even said it to her. Its pretty bad when a 21 year old with no medical schooling in animals knew as much as he seemed to...
Took my dog to the vet the next town over. The vet there was awesome. Now she was a little confused with the breed of my dog (carolina dog) since the breed is not in the canadian registry it was not on her list so she made a new section in the breeds list on their computer database just for him... SHe is so nice and caring and spoke in both technical and laymans terms...
