My wife and me own our property.9 years ago our daugther and her boyfriend bought a new moblie home and put it on our property. It was only to be here for a short while until they found there own property.the home was in his name only and he left 3 years ago and our daugther and her new boyfriend had a new home built.and they let the home go into forclosuerand greentree came out and asked could they leave it on our property for a while.that was 7 months ago I sent them a letter telling them I was chargeing them a monthy storeage fee.I have had 2 guys coming out making trouble for my wife and me had to have the law come out and they told the 2 guys the had to leave because they didn't have any papers saying theyy had a right to enter the home .do I have the right to charge them storage fee and is there any law that if they leave this on my property for anymount of a long time I can take ownership of the home.I feel they should not be a loud to leave it here for free they would have to pay if they stored it anywhere else

In NY you cannot charge storage fees unless both parties agree which creates a contract. You can't just say you are charging fees and begin to charge if there is no agreement.

And, no, it doesn't become yours because they left it there. If they are in foreclosure it already belongs to the bank. I don't know why the bank doesn't just come and get it but I'm sure they have their reasons.

What State?
