Hi,

I have just been given a better PC than the one I am using at present. Could someone tell me the cheapest and easiest way to transfer photos, a couple of files and my book marked pages to the newer PC. Is it possible to use a usb memory stick to do this?
Also, do I have to reinstall any software or can this be saved and transferred?

Thanks.

The pictures and files you should be able to transfer with a usb flash drive... but for the bookmarks it depends on what operating system your using. For Vista, the favorites (for Explorer) are kept in C:\Users\[user]\Favorites, and you can just copy those files to the folder on the new computer.

In firefox3, places.sqlite is used for storing bookmarks. Otherwise, bookmarks.html is the bookmark file. This is located in the profile directory.
Photos can be uploaded also, online to a site like Google picassa. It's a smart idea to store them online if you ever lose them.
