The pilot light blows out on my daughter's mobile home furnace, somebody had told her that the chimney was not installed properly. Is there any information on how to fix this? She has a beautiful 23 month son that I really don't want freezing.
Thanks bunches!

How old is the home? How old is the furnace? Is the furance still under warranty so she could call and have a free service call and have them correct the problem? If her home is under one year that she's lived there and purchased brand new, the home and the furnace should be still under warranty. Have her call up the mobile home dealer and get the phone number for the furnace's manufacturer and have them come out.

Home is pretty old, pretty much 'got taken' by previous owners, saying the home was in excellent shape, then moved in. Today had to buy her a new stove because she could no longer use oven as her carbon monoxide detector went off last night, had to call fire dept to see what the problem was... today's economy, have to see what we can do to fix the place up, she's going to have to live there at least three years. Am getting quotes on new furnaces soon.
Thanks again.

My experience with pilot lights is a pain. Even on stoves with a little draft it can bloe out. Check for drafts in that area. Also check the air return. And its location this can also cause a air vortex that disturbs a pilot light. This is why the use eltronic starts now. On furnaces, gas boilers, stoves etc.
