Helloo,

I Have a couple questions about warts. First let me specify that I am not speaking about genital warts. I am having a problem with warts. I used to have just one on my ankle, over the years it has grown but recently seems to have stoped growing. Then I started to get them on my toes. On my right foot they are all over a couple of my toes. I used to go to nail salons and when they would do my toes they would clip the warts, and I had no idea that they were not supposed to be doing this. And they spread (or atleast thats how I hear they spread). There are now a couple on my left foot... and some under my thumb nails.

My first question: What causes these? I heard that hpv causes warts but is that the ONLY cause?? Im a virgin.. and the only guy Ive had serious sexual contact with is the one Im with now and we've been together less than a year. IFFF it is the ONLY cause, what do I do? How do I get tested? What is the testing procedure?

My second question: Are there home treatments for warts? Ive heard of duct tape over them.. and stuff like that. If anyone knows of home remedies PLEASE let me know. Im dying to know. I dont have medical insurrance, or a job right now and so I would much rather do a treatment at home.

Please any information that anyone has I would very much appreciate some answers.
Thank You.

Try Compound W or the Freezone wart remover that uses cold to kill the wart.

Well, when I was young I had one on my thumb. I wore a band-aid every day and it eventually went away and never came back. It could't breathe so it just died.

If you have them in areas where you can put a band-aid, that might help as a home remedy.

Here is a good review about the causes and symptoms..

The wart I had removed by a doctor, was explained to me as this.

A wart is some kind of bacteria(I think) that is stationary and the body requires it to be isolated, hence the growth.

The bacteria(?) will continue to be there even as the surface is removed.

The doctor removed the high growth an applied a drop or two of(as he explained it)a complex form of pepper(cayenne if I remember his quote correctly)It slowly(and a little painfully) ate the underlying wart, this required 2 visits for mine(it was on a finger and in the way because I couldn't close my hand completely).

Once the bacteria(?) was removed, the wart disappeared and hasn't returned(over 6 months now)

Hope this helps,

KBC

Liquid nitrogen (LN2) works too. Not that you can find that lying around, but I could at the time.

Dry ice (Frozen Carbon dioxide) should work from an ice supply shop. Take a q-tip and get it really cold on the ice and apply it multiple times to the wart. Then wait a few weeks.

It should still cause a low temperature burn.

LN2 works, I've done it and went through safety training to use the tanks.

With as many as you have, they probably should be professionally done because doc might numb them first.

Thanks everyone for the answers so far. I was researching and I found a wart remover at the pharmacy, i read the reviews and everybody who reviewed it said it worked, so I will try that. In the meantime please keep giving me answers.

and also...to answer my question-warts doesnt mean i have hpv right?

That might have to be answered by a professional.

The hpv may or may not be the same 'strain' of infection.

I don't know for sure, maybe a trip to the doctor is in order for that answer.
