My 20 ft Palm Tree are coming up from the ground. The bottom of tree trunk is about 6" to 1 foot from ground bottom and I can see the roots under. If I put sod around the bottom, can I save the tree? Will it try to grow its bottom back into the ground?

Try putting soil over the exposed roots and water well - but don't overwater. You didn't say where you are located (what state).

Response to the first person answering my question - Thank you I will try that. I live in San Diego, California.

Then just adding the dirt around and covering the exposed roots should do the trick. The reason I don't recommend the sod is that the sod will wick away any water that the roots need so don't use sod. Also, try to build up a mound type base for the roots to be covered so that when it does rain the dirt is not washed away.

Try some nitrogen... making sure to water it until all peelets dissolve.. good luck
