I've done a lot of research pertaining to ovulation and when the best time to have sex. I understand that women have a better chance of becoming pregnant when they have unprotected sex during the three or four fertile days, as well as on ovulation day. Now, I've also seen where you are able to get pregg in post ovulation, but I am not certain as to how many days past ovulation can that occur. I need some incite as to what are the chances of me getting pregnant during my first fertile day and 2 past days ovulation. Please help, I really want to get pregnant.

When they mention being able to become pregnant passed ovulation, this can come about in two ways. The egg is viable for about 24 hours, so if you had sex within that time, for example 12 hours after the egg was released, pregnancy is possible. It can also happen for some women that another egg will be released soon after the first, so this can give them the possibility of the second egg becoming fertilized even if it was too late for the first one.

As you found out in you research, by having sex prior to ovulation, the few days when your body is preparing, will give the best odds. This is because sperm will be able to live in the conditions present when your body is preparing for ovulation... most just 2 or 3 days, but some may live a bit longer. Having them ready and waiting for when the egg is released increases the likelihood of conception. Trying to hit the exact day of ovulation often causes couples to miss the window of opportunity because most people will not know exactly when an egg is released... and while ovulation usually remains fairly constant cycle to cycle, things can get changed up once in awhile.

Timing is only part of the process however, several variable also have to be in place... this is why, even with good timing, it can take a fair amount of time for many couples to become pregnant.
