I'm divorced my ex and I have joint coustody I moved out of state he and his lawyer switched the paper work around that I signed so now I can't see my boys and he now won't let me talk to them I can't afford another attorney I just want to see my boys isn't there someone who can help me I only make 15,000 a year can't I qualify foe a pro bono attorney?

My ex and I went through a divorce in Illinois we got joint coustody in med we drew up pappers we were happy with (me getting them in summers ) when I moved out of state the papers were mailed to me through my attorney I signed them to my surprise my ex and his attorney switched them so now I can't see my boys and he won't let me talk to them I'm only making 15,000 a year isn't there some kind of help out there for me I can't afford to hire an attorney again and how can he keep me from my boys like this?elizabeth

Did you read what you signed? What leads you to believe that the paperwork was altered after you signed it?

What do you mean "switched" did you not go to the divorce hearing, did you not read the custody agreement before you signed it?
Did you not keep a copy of what you signed to show the court.
But you check with legal aid in your state for help, Refile for visitation if for some reason you do not have it.
Are you sure you don't and the husband is just not lying to you.

What was the switch in the papers that caused you to lose your boys?
You could try legal aid in your area - if they handle family law matters.
I don't understand what the Attorney did - can you explain to make this easier?

Did you discuss at all the papers you were signing since you had a lawyer ?
Do you have anything from the mediation ?
