:confused:I am stuck I have worked out the unadjusted trial balance and I think I have gotten thrown off by the adjustments because the adjusted trial balance is not coming out with the same total for debits and credits. I have tried to rework for a couple of hours. Here is the question, you have an unjusted trial balance of Accumumated Depreciation of 20,500, I had to add the Depreiciation Expense account in and the depreciation of equipment during the year is 2,900. I have tried to re work this problem for a while. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I added the 20,500-Acc. Dep. And the 2,900-Dep. Exp. And got 23,400.

The adjusting entry is:
Debit Depreciation Expense for 2,900
Credit Accumulated Depreciation for 2,900

Accumulated Depreciation is a Contra Asset Account.
