I am the father of a 6 yr old whom I just got sole custody of, I want to change child's surname from the mothers to mine, I got custody in one county but have lived in another for over 10 years. I were never married and I did not find out about the child until she was 3. One law states that I need to file in the county I live in and another law states that I need to file where Judgment of "Dissolution of Marriage" however we were never married.
What county do I file at?
