Hi, my questions is how do you you even begin the adoption process? I don't know where to start. I have a sister who is so far gone into drugs, that she gave me her kids 4 years ago. Two nieces, ages 11 and 15, two nephews, ages 6 and 8. They have been living with me and my two daughters and husband for about 4 years. I now want to legaly adopt them, but I don't know where to start. I don't have a lot of money, so I have to try to do this as inexpensive as possible. I live in Houston, Tx so if anyone has good advice, please I would love to hear it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. :confused:

Start with a lawyer.

You are going to have to get not only your sister, but the childrens' father(s) to sign over their rights.

Then you need to file adoption papers in the courts.

ALL of this needs to be done legally, through the courts, or it could be overturned and then you have an even MORE expensive mess on your hands.
