My water bill has tripled. I have replaced all parts in the toilet tank but water is still flowing into the toilet itself. What should I do?

Which parts exactly did you replace? Did you replace the flapper/stopper and the flapper's seat? (Not that you'll have to do that.)

I have replaced all parts inside the toilet tank including the fill valve, flush valve and ball.
The toilets are not running anymore, but water is trickling inside the toilet

When you replaced the fill valve, did you adjust the water level in the tank? If the water level is as high as the top of the overflow tube, the water will keep running into the bowl.

Does the chain that connects the flush handle to the flapper look like it could be too short? It might be holding the flapper up off the seat just enough to cause water to run out of the tank. Or if there is excess chain, it could be tangling things up or even getting in between the flapper and seat.

Did you replace the flush valve seat? Even with a new flapper, the seat can be irregular so that the flapper can't seal properly. You can sometimes feel that irregularity. Or it could be gunked up and just need cleaning.

It's possible, I suppose, that the overflow tube is damaged, like a crack or hole.

Hi Carole,

It sounds like you are losing water due to high water level and leaks through the over flow tube, open the attach link and watch some of the clips about water leaks and adjusting the water level also it will show wher your problem is, good luck, Thanks.

John
