I'm doing a home made study sheet for an exam this week and I've hit a snag on one of my problems.

tan(X)+sec(X)=1

I can get to

(sin(X)+1)/(cos(X))=1

can anyone help with the next step?

help is much appreciated...

Bring the cosine to the right hand side:

sin(x) + 1 = cos(x)

Now, considering the behavior of the sine and cosine functions, can you tell us at what point(s) cosine(x) is 1 greater than sin(x)? I suggest drawing a graph of cosine and sine, and you should then get the answer.
