Mmk. I'm engaged and about to marry a guy in the military. I love him with all my heart and I want to spend the rest of my life with him. He is the best thing to ever happen to me and I can't imagine life without him... but the thing is, I already have spent the majority of our entire relationship without him... due to the fact that he's in the military.. he left for basic, then came home seven days, and he's been in Kansas ever since. It's hard without him and I can't go be with him because I'm a still a senior in high school. I'll be going there when I graduate... but its so hard not having him with me all the time. I cry myself to sleep almost every night because I want him in my bed beside me holding me. This sucks. So I want to know from people who have military parents or are in a situation like I am, how do you stay so strong when your apart?

For many ( they are older) they use support groups of other wife's in the military, living on the base where their husband is stationed.

But then of course there is a large percent of divorce for military, esp for those deployed a lot.

That's a preview of your life with a military man, and if its hard now, wait until you get out of school, and your friends are out having a blast.

You could make sure you have supportive people around you, and maybe a plan to better yourself, through education, or working.
