I have an old floor furnace in which the thermacouple has gone bad. I cannot find any information on the thermacouple. One end of course is the end that is the sensor and the other end is a red and a white wire with spade tips. The thermacouple has a metallic sheath. The end with the wiring terminates under two screws on the furnace control unit. Is there a way to determine what type of thermacouple I need and where could I buy one?

Than you, Penrodjr

That is not a thermocouple it is a Thermopile Generator.

Example

Honeywell Q313A1188 thermocouple 750 mV Thermopile - eBay (item 110320902434 end time Jan-01-09 09:04:46 PST) (http://cgi.ebay.com/Honeywell-Q313A1188-thermocouple-750-mV-Thermopile_W0QQitemZ110320902434QQihZ001QQcategory Z20598QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
